FAMILY CONSIDERATIONS
According to leading Paediatrics: What are the benefits of sports and physical activity for children and adolescents? Engaging in sports and physical activity with friends has both physical and psychological health benefits for children and adolescents. Participating in sports and physical activity allows youth to improve their cardiovascular health, strength, body composition, and overall fitness. Mentally, youth may experience benefits from the increased socialization with friends and coaches as well as from a more structured routine. These psychological and physical benefits can help support
their developmental growth. Exercise also has immune system benefits.
ABOUT THE CHIEF INSTRUCTOR
Master Dean R Iacobucci, a 6th Dan Black Belt certified by the Kukkiwon in Seoul, South Korea. He has been studying Taekwondo since 1986. In 1988, he started his own location of a Cheung’s Taekwondo program at Annette Community Centre (Cheung’s Taekwondo Toronto West). He had nurtured over 60 Black Belts up to 5th Degree Black Belt level. Master Iacobucci has built Taekwondo programs in Toronto at High Park Montessori, Brown Community Centre, and Stan Wadlow Clubhouse.

Master Iacobucci has taught in Guyana, Grenada, and Barbados to conduct Taekwondo seminars and Black Belt testing in 2003. Master Iacobucci taught at Cheung’s Taekwondo in Brampton as the Chief Instructor for 1 year in 1996-1997. In March 2005 Master Iacobucci moved the Taekwondo program from Annette Recreation Centre to a new location. St. Paul’s Community Centre housed the Bloor West Village location. .

After twenty years of running a Cheung’s Taekwondo Chapter, Master Iacobucci rebranded his school under his own crest. January 2008 marked the official birth of Iacobucci’s Taekwondo Academy. In January 2007, Master Iacobucci started another location under the Iacobucci’s Taekwondo Academy Chapter- held at Armour Heights Community Centre. In 2008 Master Iacobucci travelled to China and Korea with a group of Cheung’s Taekwondo where the club members took part in training at the Shaolin Temple, WuDong Mountain, and the Kukkiwon in Korea.

In April of 2011, Master Iacobucci moved the Bloor West Village Operation to Brampton and co-founded MuDo Academy. In Brampton, he built programs at South Fletcher Sportsplex, Century Gardens and Loafer’s Lake Community Centre. In February 2014, Master Iacobucci relocated MuDo Academy to a new location in Brampton and made the decision to teach Taekwondo on a full- time basis. In June of 2019, MuDo Academy expanded to Caledon-Southfields Village, where classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays held at Simply Play. Simply Play is an indoor playground that has housed our growing community of children, teens, and adults in our program.

In March of 2025, Master Iacobucci moved the Brampton school to a new subdivision in Caledon known as Caledon Club. This boutique styled location caters to the personal and quality instruction that MuDo Academy has come to expect. By design, classes are never greater than twelve students. Once the class is full, another hour and or another day is added to the schedule. This perfectly positioned location at the corner of Tim Manley Avenue and McLaughlin Road became the new home in the burgeoning Caledon Club Community. With both locations set in Caledon, Master Iacobucci has
made it easier for his students to cross-train between Southfields Village and Caledon Club Community.
Teaching Taekwondo since 1988, Master Iacobucci continues to pursue his lifelong dream- to build a Martial Arts Brand based on Personal and Quality Instruction. Taekwondo Classes are offered in Southfields Village and Caledon Club- both located north of Mayfield Road in Caledon.

POLICIES FOR OUR AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
SNOW DAYS: We are considered a school bus. We follow the Student Transportation of Peel Region (STOPR). STOPR provides school bus service for students in Peel Region. If they cancel the bus service for the day, so does MuDo. We are located in weather zone #2. South of Old School Road/ Healey Rd. We recognize the challenges that parents face when it is a snow day and Dufferin Peel cancels the buses that transport students to and from school. This triggers a cancellation of the After School Program at MuDo Academy, and parents must find alternative solutions for their children. Please understand that as much as we would like to accommodate our customers, it is a safety issue that we take very seriously.
BUS PICK UPS: Please remind your children that they must STAY at the school and wait for MuDo Academy to pick them up if they are scheduled to be with MuDo Academy. If we are running late due to weather or an accident, we will contact the students’ school, and the school will let the students know. Under no circumstances should the student leave the school property.
ELECTRONICS: We have a policy whereby electronic devices are to be kept in the students' bags while they are at MuDo’s After School Program. MuDo wants to ensure that students are participating in our structured program each day. We will have fun days where we will have movies, martial art videos and games. Parents that want their children to have their phones available to them will have to sign a consent form.
REPORTING ABSENCES: Parents are reminded to text Master Dean by 10am on the day if we are not to pick up their children. If a child attends school but leaves early for any reason, and a pickup is not required, please inform Master Dean by text as soon as possible.
SNACKS, HOMEWORK HELP, AND READING: During our Reading & Homework time, all students are required to sit quietly. Parents are reminded to ensure that their child is sent to MuDo with their daily journals/ Agenda books, their homework, a book to read and a pencil case with their tools for doing their homework. We monitor their homework and encourage them to read when they say that they do not have any homework. However, they need to bring a book to read, or they will read a book from our library of resource material. We do supply stationery and supplies if a student forgets their tools, but it should not be forgotten or left at school on a regular or recurring basis.
PA, SNOW DAYS, SICK AND VACATION DAYS: MuDo Academy does not provide credits for students that take a sick day or vacation from school. Furthermore, students must still pay for the entire month even if there is a PA Day, holiday, or snow day scheduled in the month.
UNIFORMS: Uniforms are to be purchased on the onset of the program from MuDo Academy and are to be worn for class each day. The uniforms must be washed every weekend and returned on the following Monday. If a student forgets their uniform, they may still have to attend classes, however a message will be sent home to the parents.
FEE PAYMENTS: Fees are due upon signing and are due before each new month starts. Past due payments may result in penalty fees of $25 and your child will not be picked up until your account is in good standing. Recurring past due payments may result in removing the student from the program.
LATE PICK UP: We take care of your children up until 5:45pm. This is the current outline of the program. Students that are picked up past 5:45pm will be charged $10 for the first minute and $1 per minute from the 11th minute forward.
RESPECTING OTHERS PROPERTY AND VANDALIZM: All students at MuDo Academy are expected to take proper care of club property. Parents are held financially responsible for damages resulting from carelessness or vandalism caused by their children. This includes: -Damage to teaching materials including books, gym and equipment, toys, and audio/visual equipment. -Damage or defacement of cubbies, walls, tables, or any other club property. -Damage to the property of the faculty as well as the property of other students. Also, students may not use or appropriate items that do not belong to them without authorization. Damage to property may result in suspension until the student or his/her parents have paid for the damage.
