CLUB POLICIES
We are committed to ensuring that all members will have complete membership files. This includes your signed Membership and Club Policies Agreement, and a signed Acknowledgement of Risk, Waiver, and Release of Liability form.
Our methods of payment are Debit, Visa, and MasterCard. We even accept Email Transfers. All Customers will be provided with a receipt for payments made, and we ask that you let us know if you have not received a receipt, so that we may ensure that the payment system remains secure.
Everyone pays HST, it is the Law! And respect for rules, laws, and authority is a cornerstone of all martial arts. Beware of any business that begins a relationship by breaking the law (even the unpopular ones, like taxes).
When it comes to pricing, we remain committed to offering competitive pricing, which we review annually against the marketplace. We try to build in pricing incentives through our referral program, and we offer payments on our website through pre-authorized credit cards.
To be fair to all our customers, we do not haggle on memberships or merchandise prices, nor do we offer cash discounts on an individual basis. Such discounts, given to one person but not another, are just not fair to our members, especially to those loyal customers who have been with us for a long time.
Membership Fees: NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. I agree to pay all membership fees as they may be determined and fall due. I further understand and agree that upon my breach of any of the rules, regulations, class protocol or club policies; my membership may be cancelled by MuDo Academy at its sole discretion and that upon cancellation of my membership, I am entitled to no return of membership fees and that all membership, administration or uniform fees paid to date are forfeited to MuDo Academy.
New customers should be aware: We do not offer refunds for memberships. We completely understand if you are not sure of your level of commitment or level of interest down the road. That is why we offer compulsory Trial Classes, and members who are uncertain about their level of interest are encouraged to request an additional trial class if needed. This will save you money if you decide that Taekwondo is not for you.
MuDo Academy has provided essential information regarding our Rules & Regulations, Class Protocol and Club Policies. Please acknowledge and understand that it is a privilege to be a member of MuDo Academy, and that MuDo Academy has a reputation of high standing in the martial arts community. To protect members from injury, keep order, and further the teaching of martial arts, members agree to abide by the rules and regulations of MuDo Academy. Such rules, regulations, class protocol and Club Policies shall form part of the student's membership agreement. Please carefully read the Rules and Regulations regarding the Martial Arts program. Remember, you will be participating in a Martial Arts School. Students under the age of 18 years old are asked to carefully consider these Rules and Regulations with their parents/guardians as they will form part of this membership agreement. Members further understand and agree that upon their breach of any of the rules, regulations, class protocol, or club policies, their membership may be cancelled by MuDo Academy and that upon cancellation of the membership, they are entitled to no return of the current monthly fees and that all membership fees paid to date are forfeited to MuDo Academy upon cancellation of the membership.
Student registration fees are paid upon start up. If a member misses a payment, they may be subject to re-register with the registration fee. As well, late membership payments will not be tolerated. Late fees will apply and must be paid before students are permitted to resume classes.
Promotion Tests. Belts reflect a student's proven level of competence. Each belt achieved is truly an accomplishment worthy of respect. MuDo Academy has an exceedingly high standard for belt promotion. Achieving a belt is not just a matter of "spending enough time" in a belt. To achieve the next rank, a student must fully demonstrate proficiency in their current belt's techniques. As a general guideline, we require students to complete a minimum number of classes before being eligible to test for the next rank. However, not all students progress at the same rate, and some may take longer before the instructor deems them as ready to test. We will not allow students to test if we do not think they have an excellent chance of passing, nor will we hand out a belt to a student just for showing up if they do not perform well. Belts must be earned. Promotion tests are mandatory to encourage our students to have goals and work towards them. There is a cost each time to test. Fee schedules and details of our promotion test procedures are available on our website 'coloured belt promotion test application'.
Lil’ Warriors Program. Our Lil’ Warriors aged 4 – 7 years old has been designed so that children under 8 years old can still participate in our Martial Arts Program without diluting our comprehensive belt syllabus. As younger students enter the martial arts, MuDo wants to ensure that these Lil’ Warriors have goals to work towards, and we instil this by offering belts that they can achieve based on their age. MuDo Academy reserves the right to place the students where we believe is best suitable to the overall safety, benefit, and appropriate level of technical difficulty for the student. These classes are designed based on the child’s attention span. The child must be completely toilet trained and must be able to go to the washroom on their own. Instructors are not permitted to take students to the washroom.
Membership Freezes. Some members have asked us about the option to freeze memberships for vacations or trips. When it comes to medical emergencies, bereavements, or other unforeseen circumstances, we try to help families where and when we can, on a case-by-case basis. But otherwise, we do not allow memberships to be frozen for vacations or trips. We also remind members that it can affect your training and development if a student takes periods off or other long breaks in their training; this can cause a student to lose all that they have gained in training.
Photos and Videos. We want to keep a record of all our members' important milestones. Members understand that as a member any photo/ video taken of them in connection with any function or event of MuDo Academy can be used without specific permission of the people in the photos/videos and may be used for publicity or promotion without compensation at this or any other time.
Merchandise and gear. MuDo Academy sells all the necessary sparring and uniform merchandise necessary for your Taekwondo practice and training. All merchandise used in our program is to be purchased through MuDo Academy. Master Dean Iacobucci Iacobucci will measure and ensure the proper size and fit when any order is placed for sparring gear or apparel worn in our Taekwondo school. We reserve the right to deny the use of any protective gear that we deep not appropriate based on safety, design, brand, colour, other club logos, fabric and new or used condition. Support your club and make your purchases from MuDo Academy’s website. This is our policy.
Belts from other clubs will be accepted. Students that are transferring from another martial arts school will not have to start at the white belt again. This policy is in effect for the following reasons: 1) Student has earned the rank. 2) Tests are not free anywhere- we do not want belts to be a financial barrier to families. 3) MuDo Academy respects other martial arts schools and their rank system. Students will wear the equivalent to the belt earned elsewhere and will be invited to a “Placement” Test once we feel that they are ready to advance at least one belt.
Schedule Adherence. MuDo Academy has a very flexible schedule of which we are immensely proud. MuDo may from time to time adjust the schedule based on need and may ask students to attend different days and times based on their age and rank.
Club Closures and Event Calendar. MuDo Academy follows the school calendar for elementary schools in the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board and the Peel District School Board. MuDo Academy is closed when there are school holidays and Professional Activity Days. In addition, the club may be closed for one week in July and one week in August for Instructor vacations. Our event calendar will be updated accordingly.
Membership Fees.
