  • How often are classes held?

Classes are held 6 DAYS per week. (See attached Schedule). Most of our programs are designed so that our students will be able to participate in two classes per week. As our students progress in rank, they are introduced to more classes per week.

  • Are there trial classes available?

Trial classes are $15 per class and will not be deducted from the membership fee.

  • How much will classes cost?

Classes will cost between $150 and $175 per month depending on the duration of your membership period.

  • When does the program start?

The program starts any time that the student is ready. We teach the material by belt color, so we always know where you are in your journey. We do have registration periods throughout the year to enable us to enroll new students in groups. This makes our syllabus easier for our students.

  • What will the students learn?

Students will learn the basic blocks, hand and foot strikes of Taekwondo while incorporating our number one goal of fitness. Students can progress through the ranks up to the Highest degrees of  Black Belt.

  • Do you have classes for adults?

MuDo Academy Martial Arts offers classes for adults. We teach interesting Martial Arts Material and incorporate one of the most invigorating workouts ever. Classes are exciting and lead to better fitness, self-confidence, and reduced stress levels.

  • Is Taekwondo a martial art or a sport?

Both! Students studying with MUDO Academy will learn the basics of this Korean Martial art in a safe and disciplined atmosphere. Higher ranks will participate in sparring practice which is an Olympic-style sport. The sport is part of the Martial Arts. Some students: if they are interested may sign up for local, national, and international competitions. Others may appreciate participating in our program at a recreational level. Your level of participation is up to you.

  • Is once a week enough practice in Taekwondo?

Basically, No. The introductory program suggests 2 classes per week for students who would like to learn about the art of Taekwondo. Once a week class does not give our students the opportunity to condition their minds and bodies for the material being taught. If the student enjoys the program and is keen on studying martial arts, this program will provide the student with the opportunity to pursue their training for years to come.

  • Will students be able to test for various belt levels at MuDo Academy?

Yes. Students will be able to test for the first 2 levels of Taekwondo within the first 6 months. Yellow Stripe and Yellow Belt are the first 2 belts. Promotion tests are conducted on a regular basis. Ask for details on costs and guidelines.

  • Tell me about the uniform

Uniforms are necessary to train in after the Trial Classes. The uniform consists of the jacket,  pants, belt, and crest. Students order the uniform through the Chief instructor. Uniforms are $85.00 plus HST. $96.05

  • What are the belt colors in Taekwondo?

White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, and Black. Between each belt color, there are stripes on the belts, and after Black Belt is achieved, there are 9 degrees (Dans) of Black Belt. A Black Belt that reaches the 6th Dan Black Belt has considered a Master recognized throughout the world.
